1. Fishing Regulations
BC Trout Finder provides lake data and regulations for informational guidance. Anglers are strictly responsible for consulting the official Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis published by the Province of British Columbia prior to angling.
2. Safety & Wilderness Travel
Stillwater angling and forestry road travel in British Columbia involve inherent risks including rapidly changing mountain weather, cold water immersion, wildlife encounters, and unmaintained logging roads. Always carry emergency communications and exercise personal safety.
3. Community Conduct
Our angler forum is a supportive community. Harassment, abusive language, illegal fishing promotion, or commercial spam will result in immediate account termination.
4. Content Ownership & Use
The lake write-ups, tactics guidance, hatch and technique content, card graphics, and the organization of our lake database are original to BC Trout Finder and protected by copyright. So are the forecasts and the daily scores the app computes for each lake. Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or republishing this content elsewhere without our written permission is prohibited. That includes reading it from the app's own data endpoints: they exist so the app works offline on your phone, not as a feed for other sites, tools or models.
We don't claim ownership of publicly available facts. A lake's name, its coordinates and the government-published regulations belong to no one. What's protected is our own writing, our data compilation, and how we've organized and presented it.
Forum posts remain the property of the anglers who write them. By posting, you grant BC Trout Finder a license to display your post on the site.
