Trout fishing in the Peace
The Peace is a different fishery from the rest of the province: walleye and northern pike alongside the trout, lakes on the rolling farm country east of the Rockies, and long summer days that make up for a late spring.

54 lakes, 40 with live conditionsUpdated 11 September
Rainbows are stocked in the smaller lakes near the towns, and the big water holds lake trout. Wind sweeps across this open country with nothing to stop it, so a calm day in the forecast is worth a lot.
The Peace holds 54 of the 1,842 stillwaters on BC Trout Finder, the water most people mean when they search for trout fishing near Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Chetwynd. 7 of them are trophy class. 26 have a rec site or campground on the shore. Depths run from 1.1 m to 223 m.
