1. Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and a securely hashed, salted password. We never store your password in plain text.

Your content: bookmarked lakes, private catch notes, and anything you post to the public angler forum, tied to your account.

Site usage: like most websites, we automatically log some information about your visit: pages viewed, your IP address, approximate location (country/region, from standard web infrastructure), device type, the site that referred you here, and what you do in the app: what you type into the lake search, which lakes you open and save, when you tap for directions, and automatic error reports when something breaks. Search terms are stored as typed, so do not put anything private in the search box. If you're logged in, usage data may be linked to your account. Your IP address is visible only to the site owner, on a password-protected admin page. You can stop this recording, and delete what is already on record for your browser, at bctroutfinder.com/tracking-off.

Contact form: if you send us a message, we store your name, email, and message, together with your IP address, so we can reply and prevent abuse.

2. How We Use This Information

To operate your account and save your bookmarks and notes. To understand how the site is used in aggregate, which pages, how many visitors, which regions. To respond to support requests and moderate the forum.

3. Advertising & Cookies

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Resend to deliver account and notification emails, and Cloudflare for site infrastructure and security. These providers process only what's needed to perform that function and have no independent right to use your data.

5. Your Private Content

Favorites and private catch notes are visible only to you, through your account. We do not publish, share, or index them.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account or data, contact us through the Contact Support Form.
